This conference will offer an opportunity to collaboratively explore the barriers and challenges, and possible solutions, to achieving the impact potential of marine and maritime research, at all stages of the funding cycle.

COLUMBUS are accepting nominations for the 1st COLUMBUS Blue Society Award for Impactful Knowledge Transfer. This award will highlight best practice examples of successful Knowledge Transfer, specifically those resulting in impactful uptake by end-users contributing to Blue Growth and the implementation of marine and maritime policies such as the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) in harmony with the principle of Blue Society. The Prize will be awarded to the proposal that is most focused on highlighting best practice examples of research which has been transferred to end users and resulted in measurable impact, while supporting the Blue Society vision.
What could you win?
The winner will be presented with a ticket to attend the prestigious and inspirational Pendulum Summit in Dublin, on 10-11 January 2018. The “Breakthrough to Brilliance” conference is the world’s leading business and self-empowerment summit, where leading inspirational minds from all industries and professions gather to stimulate disruptive, game-changing and visionary thinking. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
Nominations can be for a person, a project or an initiative. You can nominate yourself, your own project and/or others.

Training Course: Creating Impact By Knowledge Transfer to Support Funding Agencies
A free training course is also offered as a side event to the annual conference on 2pm Monday 6 November. This training course is intended for all those who are invested in achieving greater impact from the research that they support: such as funding agencies, evaluators, lobbyists and decision makers.
